Vinyl flooring in the kitchen area is our topic today. I, David Fuchs, would like to present it to you.
Today I am on a construction site with a customer. The kitchen area is usually
the place in the apartment where there is a lot of flow on the surface. When we receive
inquiries from customers for a new floor, we usually mean the kitchen area.
Especially when there are chairs and the table in the kitchen and therefore the abrasion on the surface is highest.
Therefore you have to use a floor that is very robust. The other
point: In this room a lot of work is done with humidity. Rinsing, washing, cooking,
the children sit at the table and sometimes something is shed. So you have to take a floor
that is very resistant to moisture. Or something sharp and heavy will fall down.
That happens in the kitchen. All I can tell you is that the vinyl floor is
the perfect floor covering in the kitchen. Today we will show you in our commitment that we
lay the vinyl floor on top of old tiles. For a renovation super suitable. As
you can see here, the old tiles are in there and a new floor is to be put in here. The
vinyl is from its characteristics the ideal floor to lay on top of tiles.
The big advantage of the click vinyl floor is its low construction height of 5mm.
on the old tiles and as you can see,
The joint width of 5mm. The joint is quite far up
If this is the case, the installation can start.
I would like to show you here how I do it and which tools I need to do it. The customer chose
the Smoky Oak Grey decor for the vinyl floor from planeo Objekt Plus. Which tools
do you need? Sharp cutter knife, a
Pencil, a folding rule and a tapping block.
I’ll now lay out the footfall sound insulation and show you how simple it is.
Make sure that you lay the db Cover footfall sound insulation for the Planeo brand.
Please do not use any other. In our store it is also set up in such a way that if
you choose a vinyl floor from planeo, you can only choose this footfall
sound insulation. It has an installation height of 1.5 mm and is perfectly suited for this
vinyl floor from planeo. The footfall sound insulation is laid so that the foil side comes
down to the floor and the rough, slip-resistant side up. When laying the floor, also make
sure that you do not overlap the edges. Finally,
simply cut the insulation with a cutter knife. I have laid the insulation and am starting with the vinyl floor.
Please make sure that you lay the narrow side towards the wall.
You can lay the floor directly against the wall. When we have laid a few rows
and sections are left, we drag the laid rows back and create the 5mm edge distance with the sections.
and there are sections left, we pull out the entire floor and place the remaining sections against the wall as spacers.
I will now show you how the first connection works. The Planeo brand has a very good click connection. Especially also in the front side.
This is a problem with many manufacturers. But not here. The klick connection was cut really nicely. You put the second plank into the first one from above
and bounce it slightly down. Especially with the first
row, make sure that the edges are laid butt to butt and lie straight in alignment.
When you bounce the board down, the connection contracts like a wedge and the surface is locked.
We are at the last piece of the row and we will show you how to cut it. It is quite simple.
You place the vinyl board in the same way as it is normally clicked into place.
Of course this is not possible, but the direction of the planks should be like this.
Turn the plank 180 degrees and make a mark at the desired position.
then we need the pencil to make the markings for the interface.
With the cutter knife you cut the surface with little effort, take the plank in your hand and press it apart.
With the cutter knife you cut the surface with little effort. You do not need to expend much force.
I want to show you live how easy it is to cut a vinyl plank.
You have just seen, the cut was made, the plank is now on my knee
Now I press down both sides. With planeo vinyl floors it’s so simple.
You pull the vinyl over your knee and then the interface already opens.
That’s it, so you can separate the vinyl planks,
so there is no dust and dirt. The cut is made and the board can be worked.
This is the section from the previous one and you can process it immediately. This plank is clicked in the same way
as well as the hall in front of it.
Please make sure that the floorboards are in alignment for the next rows.
The locking mechanism has worked. Slide the row up to the wall. Done. The first row is lying and now you can start.
We have cut this section off before, but it is still there.
We will use these
in the second row. Please note here
that every section smaller than 30 cm is scrap. Please throw away.
Then start with the second row of the vinyl installation.
It is very important that the distance to the front side from the first row is not less than 30cm.
This is very important and you should pay attention to it.
We now put the second row in,
bob down and I’ll show you
trick how to make this corner connection
manage it. You might ask yourself: Do
I put the complete long side in first and then pull the whole thing over, or do you try
to move the whole row and then put it in with several people?
This is wrong! You can do it wonderfully
alone. And these are the tricks I will show
you now. Like in the first row, you lay the front side first.
but it has to be like this first. There needs to be a small gap. We will first click in the front side.
Now the hammering block is used for the long side, which you can easily hammer in.
We will show you this in a close up shot.
That was it. The vinyl plank is seated, it is cleanly finished, the joints are in place.
First the front sides and then the long side with the help of this beating block. This is very easy.
And you can lay this vinyl also very well alone.
and then make the next rows using exactly the same laying principle.
The surface is laid.
A vinyl floor in the kitchen area is absolutely
It is very robust and shock resistant,
moisture resistant, you can show that here,
if you throw something like that. The block has about 1kg weight.
This is excellently suited for the kitchen area.
Not every dish breaks immediately because this vinyl floor is relatively
elastic. Vinyl pre-finished parquet for
the kitchen floor simply perfect.
Even if they do run out of water, that is no problem at all for the vinyl.
Vinyl flooring is water resistant and highly recommended for the kitchen area.
For all who still had questions or doubts.
With this video we wanted to show you that you can use vinyl flooring in the kitchen without hesitation.
In this case, the customer opted for a planeo vinyl floor from the Objekt Plus series.
A wider vinyl floorboard in Smoky Oak Gold decor. You can find this decor in our store. Just follow the LINK!
Or you announce yourselves to us you call, we help you gladly further. A very demanding product.
With this video we wanted to show you how easy it is to lay this surface of approx. 13m² in a few hours.
You can do that too! If you still have questions, please call
us or send us an e-mail.
All the best!
